Equine-Assisted Therapy
Equine-assisted therapy is a type of animal-assisted therapy that includes horses in sessions to achieve specific goals in mental health treatment and personal development. This approach incorporates horses into existing therapeutic methods, such as Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy, Child Centered Therapy, or Play Therapy, allowing clients to gain insights about themselves while processing feelings, behaviors, and patterns through horse-related activities and metaphors. By fostering healthy human-animal relationships, equine-assisted therapy often enhances mental health, relationships, and overall well-being.

All interactions take place on the ground, emphasizing compassion and prioritizing the safety and welfare of both the human client and the equine partner. This method creates an environment of mutual care and respect, offering opportunities for growth shared between the youth and horse. Creating meaningful connections with horses offers a therapeutic space for children and youth to explore their emotions, solutions to problems, and personal growth.
