Cognitive Behavioural Therapy

Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) is a type of therapy that helps young people identify and change negative thoughts and behaviors, fostering healthier thinking patterns and emotional responses. It teaches them how their thoughts, feelings, and actions are connected. CBT encourages individuals to recognize distorted thinking and reassess it based on what’s real. It also fosters healthier thinking patterns and habits while providing problem-solving for tough situations. In the end, CBT can help young people to overcome negative thoughts, unhelpful behaviors, and difficult emotions.

Trauma Focused-Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (TF-CBT) is an evidenced based approach that helps individuals overcome trauma-related difficulties.

Animals, and play therapy may be incorporated into CBT sessions.

Why Animals?

A deep bond often forms between children and animals. Lifelong animal lovers recognize the significant impact that animals can have on a child's development. With their innocent nature, animals make excellent companions in therapy sessions by helping children and youth overcome their challenges.
