Helping children and teens through assessments and counselling—including animal-assisted and play therapy—and supporting parents along the way, all in a peaceful space worth the short drive.
Hi, I’m Judy—a Registered Psychologist. I work with kids and teens using therapy that's designed specifically for them - grounded in play, connection, and the calming presence of animals.
Worried about the drive?
Many kids look forward to their sessions—therapy here feels more like play than work. With animals, creativity, and a calm rural setting, I help children feel safe, supported, and understood.
Whether your child is struggling with:
-
Anxiety, OCD, or low mood
-
Trouble focusing or sitting still
-
Big emotions or behaviour challenges
-
Grief, trauma, or stress
-
Social or friendship difficulties
-
AND/OR you are wanting to be proactive in helping your child gain more tools to deal with life in general, I incorporate play, animals (horses, dogs, and cats), and proven strategies to help kids grow and create change.
I also can provide a range of assessments for children and teens, including psychoeducational testing, ADHD evaluations, cognitive assessments, and screens for behavioural/emotional and autism. These help me understand your child’s unique needs and guide personalized therapy.
In addition, I often work with parents using the Collaborative and Proactive Solutions model (from The Explosive Child)—a practical, respectful way to handle tough behaviour together.
About Me

With over 30 years of experience working with children—as a teacher, learning support specialist, and now a Registered Psychologist—I’ve spent my career helping kids and families thrive.
I understand that children and teens need counselling that fits them—their age, personality, and interests. That’s why sessions might include play, time with animals (horses, dogs, and cats), and evidence-based approaches like Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy, Adlerian Therapy, or Play Therapy, depending on what’s most helpful.
I believe that play is how kids express themselves and work through challenges. Whether we’re building something together, talking while grooming a horse, or just sharing quiet time with a dog, therapy becomes a space where kids feel safe, understood, and supported.
If you are looking for an assessment for your child, all assessments are tailored to address the specific questions and concerns that brought you here, so we focus on what matters most for your child’s needs and your family’s goals.
